DIABLA LATINA
DIABLA LATINA was founded in 2014 by Majo Arenas as a fashion project dedicated to representation, creation, and dialogue through garments. The practice understands clothing as a connective thread between making, thinking, and inhabiting, working through upcycling as a circular system that goes beyond sustainability and instead focuses on meaning, curation, and material quality.Over time, DIABLA LATINA has evolved beyond clothing into objects and research-based practice, expanding into an investigation of material, narrative, and visual processes.Rooted in Latin American, Bolivian, and queer histories, the project constructs a visual and textile language shaped by cinema, memory, and everyday life. Based in Berlin, it maintains active points of connection between Latin America and Europe, functioning as a continuous bridge between geographies, archives, and lived experiences.
Since 2023, Diabla has continued to present its work in showcases across Berlin, with the goal of creating performances that invite audiences into a closer relationship with the garments.
